While at Rivian, Zach developed an entirely new system for Rivian’s Gear Shop. Considering the wide range of hard goods, soft goods and vehicle components that need to be shipped by the brand- from branding to materials to fulfillment to storytelling - Zach devised a system of recycled cardboard boxes / envelopes packaging sizes which uses the least amount of material while delivering the goods safely. Taking a minimal approach to branding helped alleviate loss on the doorstep. Using organic ink, recycled cardboard and a simplified production process - Rivian was able to reduce its carbon footprint per gear shop transaction based on analysis by their internal carbon counting group.
